Is the Evangelization of the World.

"You shall be my witnesses to the
uttermost part of the earth."  (Acts 1:8)

Thanks for taking the time to check out MissionCrossRoads.

MCR is a part of the ministry of Pat Howell—that's me.  Some biographical material is included below if you would like to learn more.  Having more than 25 years of pastoral and missions related ministry, I have a deep passion to see pastors and church leaders in the become better educated and pro-actively involved in all that is related to what we know as missions.

The reason is simply this; missions is not a part of the churches ministry like Children's Ministry, Youth Groups, etc.  Missions is ultimately why the church exists--that is--The Mission of the Church is to bring glory to God by fulfilling the Great Commission.  All ministries in the church are to develop spiritual maturity so that we might be obedient to all that God has commanded.  Thus, to compartmentalize the Great Commission as one department of the church’s ministry is to minimize divine priority.  Surely, the preaching of the gospel and establishment of local churches are the most important and unique responsibilities on earth—and divinely delegated to the church alone.

Moreover, issues of identifying missionary candidates, equipping, sending, supporting and sustaining them on the fields of the world requires the giftedness, experience and wisdom of mature Christian leaders.  More specifically, churchmen produce churchmen.  It is clear that the local church is God's ordained means of evangelizing the world.  This being true, it is essential that experienced, committed churchmen are sent and sustained by churches to establish new or strengthen existing churches to the four corners of the earth.

This is no small task—an understatement, I know.  Historically, the church has invested billions of dollars and thousands upon thousands of lives in the great commission.  Much has been done and many millions of people have been reached—but at the same time—much remains to be done.  Moreover, how we currently invest those resources and the way we identify, equip, support and sustain those who serve internationally needs serious examination if we are to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.  (It is fair to ask ourselves if we are as strategic in our thinking and as committed in our giving as is Islam—which already speaks of Europe as their soon to be  Western Empire).

MissionCrossRoads and my ministry with Biblical Ministries Worldwide are devoted to effectively serving the church as we pursue faithfulness to the Great Commission.  I am seeking churches and individuals who share these concerns and would like to become a part of our support team, working together to strengthen the church's ministry of reaching the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

My details are on the front page of this site and included below.  I hope you will contact me if you would like to learn more.

Blessings,

pjh
